Girls and women all over the world want to choose when to start a family… What if you could provide that opportunity?
This has been a truly special year for Etta Projects and for hundreds of Bolivian girls who, for the first time, have had the opportunity to take control of their reproductive health.
Bolivia has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in the Americas, and tragically, one of the highest sexual violence rates. Too often, violence dictates the course of a girl or woman’s life. In many rural areas, reproductive care and contraceptive options are almost nonexistent. As a result, women and girls face a lot of unplanned, life-altering pregnancies.
Etta Projects is rewriting this narrative to give young girls and women options and opportunities to empower their health. With your support, we can provide essential sexual and reproductive health education, training, and access to long-term contraception for girls and women in eastern rural Bolivia.
Your support makes a difference:
A donation of $35 covers a subdermal implant for a woman
A donation of $200 covers 5 implants and 5 IUDs
A donation of $1,600 provides a training for a group of 20 girls
“Etta's workshops helped me know myself better. I learned to talk without shame about topics like menstrual hygiene, women’s contraceptives, sexually transmitted diseases, and how to protect myself. But I’ve also learned how to appreciate the value of each person and especially the value of me. I think that this training won’t have an impact just on us who participated, but also on all the people who are around us.” —Alena, age 15
“The government doesn’t prioritize access to long-acting contraceptives. Since EP has been working with our clinic, we can now help girls and women and THEY are deciding their future, not a pregnancy.” —Dr. Moreno, rural clinic physician
The greatest need is to educate young women about their rights and their bodies while providing options for them to decide when to start a family.
Your donation to our end-of-year fundraiser will help us continue to improve the quality of life in rural communities.
At Etta Projects, we focus on empowering women and girls, but also engage men and boys, because everyone thrives when family planning is accessible to all!
With gratitude & happy holidays,
